Connecticut Licensure
All clinicians providing services to Connecticut residents hold active licenses issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health — Professional Counselor Licensing. Licenses are renewed on the schedule required by state law.

Telehealth Compliance in Connecticut
Governing authority
Connecticut Telehealth Act, C.G.S. § 19a-906 et seq.; C.G.S. § 20-195cc (Professional Counselors)
Connecticut's Telehealth Act authorizes licensed mental health practitioners to deliver services via telehealth to clients physically located in Connecticut. Practitioners must obtain informed consent, use HIPAA-compliant technology, and maintain the same standard of care as in-person services. The practitioner must hold a valid Connecticut license.
Secure platform
All sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant video conferencing. No session is recorded without explicit written consent.
Informed consent
Clients receive and sign a telehealth-specific informed consent document before the first session, as required by state law.
Client location
Services are provided only to clients physically located in Connecticut at the time of each session, consistent with our licensure.
Confidentiality & HIPAA
Free Your Mind Services LLC maintains strict confidentiality of all client records in accordance with HIPAA (45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164) and the Connecticut Mental Health and Substance Abuse Confidentiality Act, C.G.S. § 52-146d et seq.
Client information will not be disclosed to any third party without written authorization, except as required by law (e.g., mandatory reporting of child abuse, imminent danger to self or others, or a valid court order).
All telehealth sessions are conducted on HIPAA-compliant platforms. Electronic health records are stored on encrypted, access-controlled systems.
Mandatory Reporting Obligations
Under Connecticut General Statutes § 17a-101, licensed mental health practitioners are mandated reporters. We are required by law to report reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) at 1-800-842-2288.
We are also required to take protective action when a client presents a serious and imminent threat of harm to themselves or an identifiable third party, consistent with Connecticut case law and C.G.S. § 52-146f.
Client Rights Under Connecticut Law
You have the right to receive information about your treatment, to participate in treatment planning, and to refuse treatment in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes § 17a-540 et seq.
You have the right to file a complaint with the Connecticut Department of Public Health if you believe a licensed practitioner has engaged in professional misconduct.

Fees, Insurance & Billing
Free Your Mind Services LLC accepts several major insurance plans in Connecticut, administered through Headway. Clients are encouraged to verify their coverage before scheduling.
Out-of-pocket fees and sliding-scale options are available. A Good Faith Estimate will be provided to uninsured or self-pay clients in accordance with the No Surprises Act.

Scope of Practice & Limitations
Free Your Mind Services LLC provides outpatient mental health counseling only. We do not provide psychiatric medication management, psychological testing, or inpatient/crisis stabilization services.
If a higher level of care is clinically indicated, we will provide referrals to appropriate providers or facilities.
Services are available only to individuals who are 14 years of age or older. Teen therapy (ages 14–17) requires parental or guardian consent in accordance with Connecticut law.
